On the Rigid Rotation Concept in n-Dimensional Spaces∗
A general mathematical formulation of the n × n proper Orthogonal matrix, that corresponds to a rigid rotation in n-dimensional real Euclidean space, is given here. It is shown that a rigid rotation depends on an angle (principal angle) and on a set of (n−2) principal axes. The latter, however, can be more conveniently replaced by only 2 Orthogonal directions that identify the plane of rotation...
متن کاملOne-Dimensional Fibers of Rigid Subanalytic Sets
Let K be an algebraically closed eld of any characteristic, complete with respect to the non-trivial ultrametric absolute value jj : K ! R +. By R denote the valuation ring of K, and by } its maximal ideal. We work within the class of subanalytic sets deened in L2], but our results here also hold for the strongly subanalytic sets introduced in S] as well as for those subanalytic sets considered...
متن کاملRigid 6-dimensional h-spaces of constant curvature
In this paper, we continue studying the 6-dimensional pseudo-Riemannian space V 6(gij) with signature [++−−−−], which admits projective motions, i. e. continuous transformation groups preserving geodesics. In particular, we determine a necessary and sufficient condition that the 6-dimensional rigid h-spaces have constant curvature.
متن کاملParabolic Groups Acting on One-dimensional Compact Spaces
Given a class of compact spaces, we ask which groups can be maximal parabolic subgroups of a relatively hyperbolic group whose boundary is in the class. We investigate the class of 1-dimensional connected boundaries. We get that any non-torsion infinite f.g. group is a maximal parabolic subgroup of some relatively hyperbolic group with connected one-dimensional boundary without global cut point...
متن کاملOn the Fundamental Groups of One–dimensional Spaces
We study the fundamental group of one–dimensional spaces. Among the results we prove are that the fundamental group of a second countable, connected, locally path connected, one–dimensional metric space is free if and only if it is countable if and only if the space has a universal cover and that the fundamental group of a compact, one–dimensional, connected metric space embeds in an inverse li...
